National Institute Health Training Guidelines

New training guidelines for graduate students and postdocs are scheduled for release soon from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The guidelines are expected to address criticisms of current policy levelled by a committee of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). It recommended that the NIH distribute more general training grants directly to young investigators rather than funding them through research grants to senior scientists. The NIH says that the new guidelines will address this question.
