The conference is being organized by the Foundation Food Micro and Innovation and chaired by Dr. Servé Notermans, Principal scientist at the TNO Nutrition and Food Research Institute.

The aim of the meeting is to provide a concise overview of the relationship between animal health and the safety of foods derived from animals. The central theme of the meeting will be how to maintain the health of production animals to guarantee that foods of animal origin do not become a public health hazard.

This meeting should be of interest to all those engaged in food production, processing, marketing and legislation, including consultants and researchers. It should provide an ideal opportunity to increase scientific and managerial awareness of the important issues that relate animal health to the production of safe food.
